Does Allied’s Pharmacy Technician Programs prepare me to become a Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT)?
Yes. If you enroll in Allied’s Pharmacy Technician or Professional Pharmacy Technician programs, you will be prepared to sit for the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) exam. Once you pass, you will gain the credentials to become a Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT).

What is the relationship between the “online exam prep” and “externship”?
There is no direct relationship between Allied’s “online exam prep” and “externship” program. The online prep is a standalone product that is always included in the Pharmacy Technician programs. Students who previously enrolled and did not receive the online exam prep can purchase the prep with an alumni discount. The “externship” is offered to students who have met the requirements – successfully completed Allied’s Pharmacy Technician or Professional Pharmacy Technician program (regardless if the online prep was included), and earned a CPhT credential by successfully passing the PTCB exam.
I have earned my CPhT credential already, but I didn’t take one of Allied’s Pharmacy Technician programs. Can I enroll in Allied’s Pharmacy Technician Externship?
No. Allied’s Pharmacy Technician Externship is only offered to students who have also taken Allied’s Pharmacy Technician or Allied’s Professional Pharmacy Technician programs.
I have taken the Pharmacy Technician education from another school and haven’t taken the PTCB exam. I want to enroll in Allied’s Pharmacy Technician Online Exam Prep now to prepare for PTCB exam. If I do, will I be qualified for the externship once I passed the PTCB exam?
No. Allied’s Pharmacy Technician Externship is only offered to the students who have also taken Allied’s Pharmacy Technician or Allied’s Professional Pharmacy Technician programs.
I have completed Allied’s Pharmacy Technician program without taking the online prep. Will I be qualified for the externship once I pass the PTCB exam?
Yes. As long as you meet the requirements, you will be qualified for the externship. Online Prep is NOT required.
I already understood that I am not qualified for Allied’s Pharmacy Technician Externship because I didn’t take the education from Allied. Can I pay for enrolling in your externship?
No. Allied’s Pharmacy Technician Externship is only offered to the students who have also taken Allied’s Pharmacy Technician or Professional Pharmacy Technician programs. There is no cost for students who meet the requirements.
